Born in France at the end of the '70s in a Parisian district, he arrived at a time when French street art was growing and entering its golden age.
When he was still a baby, he moved with his parents abroad and was fortunate enough to spend his early years in New Caledonia.
This French territory filled his eyes and soul with the exotic beauty of island life.
Taking his first steps barefoot on the white sand gave him a lifelong connection with the bare land and its wild waters.
When his parents relocated to Biarritz to better suit their work and lifestyle, he was still a kid. Missing the life he knew on the island where he first grew up, he developed a deep love for the Ocean and for surfing.
As a little boy, he struggled to fit into society's pre - made boxes. Dealing with dyslexia — which at that time was seen as a limitation — and an inner call to be free and wild, he had a hard time finding his spot in this world. He spent several years in boarding schools that tried to suppress his extreme sensitivity and his visions.
Because of his bravery in the surf and his tendency to act like a bull out of the water, he gained his nickname.
Pushed by his mother to study fine art in Bayonne and Nantes, he finally found his way to express his emotions.
He started to sign his paintings with his art name: BoulsyKing.
His paintings are influenced by his favorite artists: Pollock inspired him with his abstract technique, Paul McCarthy with his controversial work that aims to make the viewer feel uncomfortable, and Wim Delvoye for his ability to engineer conflict by combining fine art and folk art. Aboriginal art has also captivated him since he was in France, drawing him in with its use of dots and abstraction.
Spray cans, acrylics, dish soap, Posca pens, and resins are the tools he uses to bring colour to his canvas.
In France, his paintings were exhibited in galleries and requested by private buyers.
Waves can always be found in his work; he speaks through them about surfing and the Ocean.
His obsession is to catch and fix onto his canvas the emotion of the waves, capturing their fluid essence and impermanence.
He is currently living and residing in Australia by the Ocean, where his art receives the perfect inspiration to come alive.
